Hawaii, especially Waikki holds a special place in my heart.  Not only is it a beautiful place to vacation (I have visited over a dozen times), I have enjoyed artistic inspiration and sales success over the years.

 

During one of my visits, I was invited to display and sell my paintings at a very prominent commercial art gallery with two locations in Waikiki.  I quickly put together a shipment of flower paintings and followed up with several visits, painting on-site and attending group shows.  All very exciting!

 

Alas, the gallery’s lease expired and they closed temporarily.  Before the remaining paintings were shipped back to me, TV network CBS purchased all of my inventory to use on the sets of Hawaii Five-O and later, Magnum PI.

 

Now my visits to Hawaii are to enjoy the weather, the ocean, the food and to replay the memories.
